At 24 Hour Positioning we provide a holistic service to assess your seating and sleep positioning needs. Each client is individually assessed so that we can provide a product which is tailored to their exact requirements.

Together we then work towards achieving the clients and/or caregivers seating and positioning goals. We provide comprehensive assessments as follows:

Specialist wheelchair, seating and positioning assessments

Our team of highly experienced seating therapists gather holistic information about you to gain an understanding of your health conditions, associated impairments and life roles to assist in sourcing the optimal positioning and mobility equipment options available.

The Mechanical Assessment Tool (MAT).

The MAT is a musculoskeletal examination of the client’s range of motion, joint flexibility, muscle length and skeletal alignment. The MAT process facilitates the selection of a seating or sleep system with appropriate ‘size’ and ‘shape’ for the client.

Pressure Mapping Assessments.

Pressure Mapping Technology is an evaluation tool that consists of an imaging tool and sensor pad. With the sensor pad placed between the seat cushion and/or on a mattress. Our experienced team provide pressure mapping consultations for analysis of support surfaces’ performances relating to pressure, education, and user understanding.

Manual Handling Training.

Our therapists provide onsite training for carers and family to provide them the tools to position clients correctly and safely.

Community Occupational Therapy Services including;

upper limb therapy, assistive technology, activity of daily living and functional capacity assessments.

Custom Manufacturing (Orthoses) Service

At 24 Hour Positioning, custom moulded seating and sleep systems are our speciality. Once assessed, we take a cast of the client’s most optimal achievable position based on their anthropometrics. This is achieved using a specialised vacuum consolidation technique whereby the client is placed in a specifically designed casting bag and air is then extracted from the bag leaving an exact form of the client’s body. Once the desired position has been achieved an exact imprint of the optimum position is taken using plaster of paris to create a mould which in turn forms the basis of the seating or sleeping system. Casting moulds have traditionally been used to then manufacture our specialised systems, however we at 24 Hour Positioning are transitioning to 3D printing ………….

At 24 Hour Positioning the whole manufacturing process is carried out on site at our head office in Chatswood, New South Wales by our highly skilled and specialised technicians. The advantage of manufacturing on site, enables us unrivalled scope to make individualised products and results in an efficient and timely manufacturing process.
