Our occupational therapists are seating and positioning specialists and aim to support you to achieve postural management throughout the day and night. We take into consideration all aspects of seating and positioning – from mobility through to functional ability.
We provide a range of services to clients of all ages, anything related to seating and sleeping:
Seating assessment
- A thorough assessment will be conducted at the first appointment, including reviewing the existing wheelchair and seating, review of current posture and postural support needs, and your goals.
- From there, we can explore potential seating solutions as a team, whether just needing to tweak your existing seating and wheelchair set-up or trialling and prescribing commercial seating or prescribing custom seating that best suit your postural support needs.
Sleep positioning assessment
- A thorough assessment will be conducted at the first appointment, including a review of your current sleep position, postural support needs, and your goals.
- From there, we can explore potential sleep positioning solutions and trial and prescription of commercially available sleep positioning systems or custom-made sleep positioning system that best suit your postural support needs.
Wheelchair and other Assistive Technology (AT) prescriptions
- A thorough initial assessment to understand your support needs and goals and from there, we explore the potential AT solutions with you as a team.
- Liaison with AT suppliers to trial different AT options
- Comprehensive AT report with clear and detailed reasoning and justification to ensure funding approval.
- Delivery and follow-up visits to ensure AT has been fitted and used appropriately and achieve the desired outcomes.
Pressure mapping assessment
- Comprehensive assessment of current seating and/or sleep posture
- Access to interface pressure mapping technology (XSensor Fore Site SS) to identify and address potential risk factors and preventing the occurrence of pressure injuries
- Recommendations on pressure care management
- Recommendations on trialling suitable seating solutions or sleeping solution
- Provide comprehensive assessment report as requested
Manual handling training
Provide manual handling training specific to clients and support family and/or support workers to have the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent manual handling injuries.
Custom seating, sleep system and accessories
Our highly skilled technicians specialise in designing and manufacturing custom moulded seating, sleep systems and other accessories.
The whole manufacturing process is carried out on site at our head office in Chatswood, NSW.
